iRock. It’s a name you can’t help but say without grinning. It’s a name you’d tell people you didn’t think of it. It’s a name even Apple would think twice to use. It is after all such a ridiculously pretentious name. And we want to shout it out loud!

Because a name is only pretentious if we don’t live up to it.

So, here’s us putting our money where our mouth is. Call it digging our own grave, but it’s a vision that helps us push the boundaries of Indian cinema.

We simply want to create what we believe is good cinema by continuously offering something different to the audience. We insist on genre-specific, ‘high-concept’ films, which in simpler terms means it’s all about the ‘big idea’. And we will go anywhere for it.

We’re a Bollywood film development and production company, which is backed by Mr. Manmohan Shetty’s Walkwater Media and it recently received another round of equity funding from Dar Media, a Dubai-based media and investment company. iRock is run by CEO, Siddhartha M Jain, whose brainchild it all is.

We have the largest script development team from various walks of life. We believe that fresh talent can be nurtured to create something that audiences like. Our first film, RAGINI MMS, which was acquired by Balaji, proved just that.

We’re a young company directing all our energy to the largest population of the country, the youth. We try to push the envelope (and sometimes even the ‘A’ certificate). The script is the king and the Writers are whipped. We’re ready to make our mistakes.

We call ourselves, ‘iRock’. And yes, we definitely mean it.

Currently developing & producing a bunch of WEB SHOWS, to be launched soon!

MR. MANMOHAN SHETTY
Investing Partner. God.

People may not know who you are or where you work or even what you do. But as soon as you say Mr. Manmohan Shetty backs your company, there’s an immediate nod of respect.

It’s respect that he’s earned over a lifetime of effort. Considered a pioneer entrepreneur in the Indian film industry. In 1978, he founded Adlabs Films, India’s largest film processing house, which he later expanded to include digital post production and VFX services. He gave India its first (and Asia’s largest) IMAX dome theatre, initiated India’s first digital cinema venture, revolutionised corporatisation and portfolio management in the Indian film industry and kick-started India’s multiplex generation. He is also an accomplished producer of films with a list of credits that include Mrityudand, Ardhsatya, Apaharan, Gangaajal, Waqt and Namastey London.

His latest company, Walkwater (WW), represents a fully integrated content-centric business encompassing production across film, television, animation and other media as well as IP exploitation. In a short span of time, WW has initiated a number of businesses in the media and entertainment space.

Mr. Shetty currently serves as the President of the Film and Television Producer’s Guild of India and brings to iRock a deep understanding of content and content agglomeration and a hands-on approach to business.

Namedropping Mr. Shetty’s name also comes with a certain pressure. A pressure to excel, work hard and more importantly – be a good human being. A reputation we could only attempt to achieve in this lifetime.
